Vietnam Television (VTV) actively participates in ABU GA 52

VTV.vn - The most important annual gathering of the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union, the 52nd General Assembly and Associated Meetings (ABU GA52) takes place in Turkey.

The delegation of Vietnam Television is headed by President Tran Binh Minh.

Taking place in Istanbul - Turkey from 24th through 30th, October 2015 and hosted by Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), ABU GA 52 attracted the participation of nearly 700 delegates from the Union’s broadcasting members and partners. With the theme of Serving Audiences: Empower Asia-Pacific, ABU GA 52 and its associated meetings was truly a comprehensive panorama of the regions’ broadcast industry in 2015 and the near future as well.

Members presented at the meetings also were briefed by annual reports from Sports, Finance, Copyrights, Legal and Programme Departments on the main ABU events and activities held during the year. So as to propose the overall strategic development plans in the field of content, technology, finance and resources and so on, to be summited to the Administrative Council for discussion and approval.

Being the Councilor of ABU Administrative Council for 2015-2017 term, VTV has always actively participated in many professional activities initiated and coordinated by the Union. To this annual gathering, VTV’s delegation joined in most of the important meetings, namely  Administrative Council, Sports Conference, Technical Committee, Programs Committee, Quality Management Workshop, Super Panel Discussion, ABU Prizes, ABU TV Song Festival, etc. Especially, VTV’s panelists also had presentations at the Technical Committee Meeting (VTV’s difficulties and experiences in digitalization of High-Definition broadcast chain); and at the Programme Committee Meeting (Cooperation in TV serial drama production).
