This is an annual activity within the framework of the 52th General Assembly of the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABUGA 52) that attracts attention of representatives from the Union’s member organizations.
ABU Prizes are awarded to best TV programs of the year, which bearing spiritual values to encourage the creativeness of ABU members. It also aims to promote new production methods to bring high-quality, rich-content programs with global messages to the audiences of ABU’s member countries and regions.
According to the ABU, this year the competition attracted almost 250 entries from the Asia-Pacific and around the world, comprising of 154 television entries and 92 radio entries, among which 24 TV and 30 radio programs from 23 countries were selected to vie in the final round, in seven TV and six radio categories.
Seven radio programs and eight TV programs won 2015 ABU Prizes. The winners of this year’s festival received a cash prize of USD 2,000, a trophy and a certificate.
Republic of Korea triumphs TV category of 2015 ABU Prizes with three Awards, namely Best Entertaining Program, Best Children’s Program, ABU Perspective Award, followed by the Islamic Republic of Iran with 2 Awards of Best TV Series and Best News Reporting.
