The two major economic hubs in southern Vietnam, are eagerly awaiting construction of the Thu Thiem – Long Thanh Metro Line.
According to the design, the line will stretch more than 44 kilometres, including around 34.6 kilometres of elevated track and 11 kilometres underground. A total of 18 stations are proposed along the route, including 16 elevated stations and two underground ones.
The preliminary total investment for the first phase is estimated at more than 134.1 trillion VNdong or 5.14 billion US dollars, excluding land clearance costs. This is lower than an earlier study's estimate.
In preparation for the construction of the Metro Line, more than 300 geological survey boreholes have been drilled along the section of the route passing through Ho Chi Minh City.
