Consumers can also ask businesses to accept, verify and negotiate complaints. Local authorities have also been given a greater role in dispute resolution.
Demand for such services is rising. In the first half of 2026, the National Competition Commission's consumer hotline received nearly 10,700 calls and more than 1,400 complaints and requests.
