VTV.vn - Onagadori chickens originating from Japan have been brought to Vietnam. Some of the chickens already have seven-meter tail feathers.

The feathers can grow about 7-10 cm each month. This breed has been raised in a farm in Dĩ An commune in Binh Duong province. A pair of these types of chickens can be sold for up to 2,800 USD.

Phan Minh Hong, a breeder in the southern province of Binh Duong currently has 100 Onagadori chickens. According to Hong, Onagadori chickens are bred by hobbyists for their incredibly long tail plumage and decorative qualities.

“The breed is considered a living monument of the Japanese culture. It is not easy to bring an Onagadori out of Japan. With a friend’s help, I managed to acquire 100 eggs for artificial incubation,” Hong said.
