Vietnam is heading towards comprehensive cancer treatment that meets international standards, at the same time developing international collaboration in cancer studies, to ensure that Vietnamese residents will have access to the most advanced cancer treatments in the world. This was the main topic at the recent Cancer Research Forum held in Hanoi. The event was organized by Vinmec, Vingroup's medical system. The forum drew the participation of leading medical experts from the US specializing in tumor, hematology, and genealogy  among others. The experts introduced a range of new treatment methods as well as studies from Harvard University on cancer treatment. A  number of examples include application of cell biology and early detection technology or advanced chemotherapy. American experts and Vinmec have made plans to construct an international center on tumor research in Vietnam  with the aim of developing treatment methods here in the country. According to statistics, Vietnam is 78th on the list of countries with the highest rate of cancer patients.
