The event was co-chaired by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Chairwoman of Russia's Federal Council Valentina Matvienko.
The legislators noted that localities of both countries have entered into twinning relationships and there was ample co-operation in investment, trade, tourism, and culture. The Vietnamese NA leader said the outcomes of the seminar would be sent to agencies in each country, enabling them to find ways to improve links.
Matvienko said Vietnam was among Asia-Pacific countries with high GDP growth, which is a chance for Russia and Vietnam to continue expanding bilateral co-operation.
The two sides are working together for a target of 10 billion USD in two-way trade in 2020 by exploiting untapped potential to match the already in place comprehensive strategic partnership.
