VTV.vn - The Ho Chi Minh City Book Street Company, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association and the Thu Duc City Cultural Centre, launched the week of activities “Towards the Homeland's Sea and Islands” and a photo exhibition themed “Beloved Truong Sa!”.

The event aims to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19), National Day (September 2), and the 60th anniversary of the first victory of the Vietnam People's Navy (August 5).

The activities during the week "Towards the Homeland’s Sea and Islands" are among the special cultural events aimed at enhancing knowledge, raising awareness about the importance of patriotism, developing life skills, and nurturing love for the homeland among the younger generation of Vietnam.

As one of the main activities during the week, the "Beloved Truong Sa!" photo exhibition by the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association features 99 works depicting beautiful photos of Truong Sa and DK1 rigs, as well as the images of the resilient soldiers and civilians who are defending the nation's maritime sovereignty.

Through this photo collection, the organisers hope to introduce the community to the homeland's seas and islands as well as the naval soldiers who are on duty to protect the nation's sovereignty.

The works also reflect the people's affection for the soldiers and civilians on remote islands, thereby deepening the understanding of the importance of the homeland's seas and islands, educating on the tradition of patriotism, and honouring the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations to the cause of national construction and defence.

Additionally, Thu Duc City Book Street displays many book titles from reputable publishers and companies, focusing on educating about patriotism, especially concerning the homeland's seas and islands, contributing to spreading the spirit of patriotism and honouring the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations to the cause of national construction and defence.

Furthermore, meaningful exchange programmes are being organised to promote the Party's guidelines, policies, and the State’s laws regarding the sea and islands, as well as the rights, interests, and responsibilities of organisations and individuals in activities related to Vietnam's seas and islands.

On this occasion, Thu Duc City Book Street is also hosting an interactive programme for children through the book series titled "I Love the Sea and Borders", with the participation of author and journalist Nguyen Tham.

In addition, free play areas and experiential activities at Thu Duc City Book Street will continue to take place regularly to serve readers.
