Present at the service to bid farewell to the late leader were Politburo member and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan along with delegations from the municipal Party committee, the Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Council and People’s Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, representatives of agencies, and citizens of the southern metropolis.
Earlier on Wednesday, the city observed the State Funeral to pay tribute to State President Tran Dai Quang. The event saw hundreds of delegations of city’s authorities, armed forces, delegations from the southern localities, and local people, as well as representatives from socio-political rganization and foreign diplomatic missions, come to pay homage to the late State President with deep condolences.
According to the organizing Board of the State Funeral, a total of 1658 delegations with more than 50,000 representatives as well as 164 diplomatic and international delegations have come to pay tribute to the late leader in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, and his hometown in Ninh Binh.
