VTV.vn - According to statistics from the Center for Korean Studies, there are currently over 2,000 Vietnamese-Korean families living in Vietnam.

The families regularly gather together to share experiences as well as knowledge of Korean culture, so that family members can gain a better understanding of their unique heritage. One such meeting, a course on Korean history and culture, was recently held in Hanoi.

Participants of the course, which included nearly 100 Vietnamese-Korean families, learned about Seokguram cave, Bulguksa temple, and other famous Korean landmarks. The history and culture of Korea are woven through the stories surrounding these and other famous sites.

This is the 8th lesson of the course, which was co-organised by the Viet Nam-Korea Family Association and the Republic of Korea embassy in Vietnam. Teachers of the course are professors and experts from both Korea and Vietnam.

Vietnamese-Korean families inevitably experience language or cultural barriers. Courses like this one are practical, helping to strengthen mutual understanding and thus creating harmony between family members from two different cultures.
