The meeting centred around the 3.5 billion USD concessional loan promised to Vietnam by the World Bank. Of this, 1.4 billion USD has been disbursed to support Vietnam in its economic development. The other 2.1 billion will be given in the near future.
In the next 5 years, the Vietnamese economy will be facing a number of challenges, including growth, the economic restructuring process, and enhancing its competitiveness. Financial support from the international community, and especially from the WB, will assist Vietnam in achieving stable socioeconomic development and avoiding the middle-income trap.
