Coffee export may face challenges in H1/2019

by VTV406 January 2019 Last updated at 18:43 PM

VTV.vn - According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO), the world's coffee yield from the 2017/2018 crop rose 4.8% compared to the previous crop. Meanwhile, coffee consumption only rose by 1.8%.

ICO predicted that the global coffee market will still be under pressure from an overabundant supply. This will negatively affect Vietnam's coffee exports. However, ICO also said that the current surplus supply of coffee is only temporary and coffee consumption will keep rising annually. Therefore, coffee prices may recover in later 2019.
