Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson Gao Feng warned that the "wrong practice" by the US raised the risk of a global economic recession, and said Beijing would take steps necessary to safeguard Chinese firms' interests. Also on Thursday, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman urged the US to alter its actions to resume trade talks.
