A conference took place on Sunday morning to collect comments from the public for the draft documents which will be presented at the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Chairman of the central committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Nguyễn Thiện Nhân chaired the event.
The conference collected recommendations on cultural matters, focusing on promoting the cultural values of Vietnam, nurturing patriotism, and motivating the younger generation’s dedication. Culture is among the three crucial factors contributing to the country’s development. However, experts say that the importance of culture is yet to be considered seriously. Many people still consider financial benefit to be the priority, as businesses profit immediately, where culture produces long-term benefits. At the conference, participants proposed to raise more awareness about the importance of culture in society, especially for party officials. In the context of integration, youth participation in cultural activities is even more significant. Speaking at the event, Chairman of the central committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Nguyễn Thiện Nhân stressed that culture is the key to happiness and national prosperity. The comments gathered at the conference will be listed in the draft documents submitted to the 12th National Congress.
