The 13th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Environment (AMME 13) will take place today (Oct 26th) in Hanoi, and draw the participation of environmental ministers from 10 ASEAN member countries and 3 partner nations, including Japan, Korea, and China.
The meeting expects to pass the joint statement on climate change among ASEAN countries and initiate the draft ASEAN Declaration on Environmental Sustainability and climate change after 2015. The ministerial meeting, held every three years, reviews cooperation between ASEAN member countries in climate change prevention, water resource protection, and biodiversity and marine environment preservation.
