New Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was sworn into office in the morning of April 7 after being elected to the position by the National Assembly.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: "In front of the national flag, the National Assembly, and the people nationwide, I vow my resolute loyalty to the nation, the people, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".
With the support of 446 out of 490, or over 90%, of the total National Assembly deputies, the new PM position was assigned to Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the then Deputy Prime Minister. In the following swearing-in, the leader stressed that holding the position of the new cabinet leader is a great honour and responsibility assigned by the Party, the State and the people.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: "I promise to make all-out efforts to well fulfill the tasks assigned to me by the Party, the State and the people".
As planned, the PM will summit a proposal to the NA on the dismissal and appointment of Deputy PMs, ministers and other cabinet members on April 8-9.
