The disease is at risk of spreading nationwide, despite efforts by localities to control the spread. Farms across the country are on high alert. According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, eighteen large farms with over 1,000 pigs have experienced African Swine Fever, and over 5,000 pigs have been affected. Since the selling and buying of pigs are taking place as usual, there needs to be greater efforts by provinces to prevent its spread.
