Archives exhibition spotlights Vietnam – Russia friendship

VTV.vn - An archives exhibition entitled ‘Vietnam – Destination’ officially opened at the Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts in the capital city of Moscow.

On display were nearly 100 archives, memorial artifacts and decorative applied art pieces which were selected from National Archive Centres and museums in Vietnam and Russia.

The exhibits reflected the cultural relations between the two countries over more than a half century, from the first cultural exchanges in the 1950s to the strong relationship between the Soviet Union and Vietnam in all areas of art and culture in the 1960-80s and on to the modern period of Vietnam – Russia relations since from the 1980s to the present.

The exhibition offers an opportunity for historical researchers and visitors to learn more about the good relationship between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union and Russia today.The event also contributes to encouraging younger generations to continue to uphold the traditional friendship.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Russian Federal Archive Andrei Artizov, Director of the Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts Tatiana Goryaeva and Director of the State Records Management and Archives Department Dang Thanh Tung expressed their hopes that the event would open up new cooperation projects to promote the traditional cooperation between the archive centres in Vietnam and Russia as well as enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The exhibition will continue until June 14.
