The annual event is organised by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in cooperation with the Vietnam Tourism Association to mark Vietnam Tourism Day on July 9th. Besides annual categories, this year's award also honours outstanding resorts.
Around 100 outstanding tourism businesses were named for the 2016 Vietnam Tourism Awards. This year, tourism businesses are being honored in 9 categories, including tour operator, accommodation, and tourist transport. This is also the first time leading resort awards have been granted to the 5 most attractive destinations.
"We will complete more construction to serve tourists. We hope to bring a new and more attractive look to visitors." - Nguyen Anh Vu, Deputy Manager, Ba Na Hills Resort.
Ho Chi Minh City is expected to dominate the awards, with the most businesses in the tour operator category.
"We will focus more on customer services. We will launch more promotional programmes to attract both domestic and international visitors." - Tran Van Long, General Director, Viet Travel Company.
The 2016 Vietnam Tourism Awards is part of activities to celebrate the 56th anniversary of the tourism sector. The awards have been organised every year since 1999.
