State President Trần Đại Quang delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the APEC Summit 2016 in Lima, Peru, reiterating that the hosting of the 2017 APEC Year would be the centre of Vietnam's foreign affairs and would demonstrate the country's desire to contribute to APEC and regional development.
"The 24th APEC Summit successfully concluded, with Vietnam making notable contributions as the host of the APEC Year in 2017. Vietnam's agreement to host the year expressed the global community's confidence in the country. Vietnam is committed to do its utmost to foster the fulfilment of Bogor Goals, and the APEC Year 2017's theme of creating new dynamism, fostering a shared future. I call for the involvement and contribution of governmental bodies at all levels as well as business community and the people of Vietnam to promote the image of Vietnam, as a country of peace, stability, dynamic development, and hospitality." - State President TRAN DAI QUANG
As host, Vietnam hopes to play a part in building a developing and prosperous Asia - Pacific region. Vietnamese State President Trần Đại Quang welcomed leaders and delegates to attend activities.

The APEC CEO Summit 2016 in Lima, Peru successfully concluded, with the approval of Lima Declaration on Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific and APEC Services Competitiveness Roadmap. The attendees reiterated APEC's commitments to promoting free trade and investment, sustainable economic development and prosperity in the Asia - Pacific region.
