The 485 billion VND or 21.5 million USD project involves the installation of a 15.5km undersea cable, 17km land cable and 6 transformer stations.
The Italian-based Prysmian Powerlink Group, along with Thai Duong Company, a senior wire and cables company in Viet Nam, will be the project’s contractors. The project is scheduled to finish by the second quarter of 2016. Upon completion, about 2,600 people living on the island will have access to electricity from the national power grid.
