The two sides agree that they needed further co-operation to turn agreements signed by the two politburos, and agreements and plans reached at the 38th meeting of the Laos-Vietnam Inter-governmental Committee into a reality.
Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang said the Communist Party of Vietnam and state always prioritised the special relationship with Laos, adding that Vietnam would do its utmost to help Laos successfully organise event as part of its responsibilities as ASEAN chair.
Head of the Lao presidential office Khammeung Phongthady spoke about the outcome of talks between the two offices, saying they had agreed upon a working schedule for the time ahead, focusing on enhancing their advisory roles in domestic and foreign affairs for high-ranking party and state officials.
