Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged provincial authorities to take timely action to help affected households and stressed that sufficient supply of water is paramount at this moment. Following this direction, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province has mobilised transportation to provide fresh water to residents in Vinh Hai village, Vinh Chau commune. As recorded, there are 140,000 residents in Soc Trang province that lack fresh water for daily activities. This prompt support has helped reduce the burden on affected households suffering drought and salinisation.
