VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and a high-ranking delegation arrived in Tokyo on late last night to commence his three-day working visit to Japan at the invitation of his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.

The Prime Minister was welcomed at Haneda International Airport. During his time in Japan, Prime Minister Dung is scheduled to attend the 7th Mekong-Japan Summit in Tokyo from July 2-4. The Vietnamese leader’s attendance at the event aims to foster the Mekong-Japan cooperation towards supporting socio-economic development in the Mekong Sub-region in general and in Vietnam in particular.

The on-going summit in Japan has significant meaning in passing the Tokyo Strategy 2015 and mapping out cooperation orientations between Japan and five Mekong nations, namely Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, in the 2016-2018 period.
