Pensioners and social welfare recipients will be able to receive their payments through the VNeID app starting on September 28th.
A new social security account on VNeID will allow users to link a bank account, e-wallet or mobile money account to receive pensions, allowances and other social welfare payments.
The account is linked to the user’s digital identity, making it easier to receive different types of social welfare payments through a single system.
However, setting up the account is not mandatory. Those who have not created one, or have not authorised someone else to receive their payments, will continue to receive allowances and pensions through other methods under current regulations.
