The Nation Reunited in Joy was directed by the Central Military Commission – Ministry of National Defense and under the auspices of the Department of Propaganda and Training, Military Region 7, among others, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (30/4/1975 – 30/4/2025).

General Secretary graced the event To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission; Nguyen Minh Triet, former Politburo member and former President; Nguyen Tan Dung, former Politburo member and former Prime Minister; Le Hong Anh, former Politburo member and former Standing Member of the Party Secretariat, along with other Politburo members, leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, Ministry of National Defense; revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, and leaders from central and Ho Chi Minh City agencies.
Leaders and delegates enthusiastically enjoyed the artistic performances.
The program featured approximately 1,025 performers from art troupes and armed forces of Military Region 7, the Military University of Culture and Arts, and artists including People's Artist Thanh Thuy, People's Artist Tu Long, singers Cam Van, Tung Duong, and others.

The grand outdoor stage was newly constructed in front of the Independence Palace, featuring modern, dazzling lighting effects. The program highlighted the leadership role of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the courageous spirit of the military and people during the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign. It also aimed to foster patriotism, national pride, and the aspiration to develop the country in a new era.
The program combined musical, dance, theatrical, and live-action elements, intertwined with epic storytelling.

People's Artist Thanh Thuy impressed the audience with her sweet voice through famous songs like Vam Co Dong (music by Truong Quang Luc, poem by Hoai Vu) and The South Forever Grateful to Uncle Ho (music by Luu Cau, adapted from the poem by Nhat Lam). Although she been promoted to a managerial role as Vice Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, she still passionately participates in special art programs and visits border and island regions to perform for soldiers.
People's Artist Tu Long and artists from the program Call Me by Fire revitalized the song “Singing About Rice Today”.
Efforts to build and develop the nation and defend the homeland under new and challenging conditions require the Party, the people, and the army to strengthen national unity, foster creativity, and strive toward transforming Vietnam into a developed country with a modern industrial base.
The glorious history of the nation continues to be written today by millions of young people who carry carry the pride and great responsibility of their predecessors and for their beloved homeland.
The audience sang along to many familiar songs that have become deeply rooted in generations of Vietnamese hearts.
Songs, dances, and music embodied the resilient spirit passed down from the ancestors, inspiring today's youth to believe in a new Vietnamese miracle — building a prosperous and thriving nation through self-reliance and resilience under the glorious banner of the Party.
