The special art program The Nation Reunified in Joy, directed by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, was organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (30/4/1975 – 30/4/2025). It was broadcast live on VTV1 of Vietnam Television and simultaneously aired on television channels nationwide.
General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, attended the event along with a large number of current and former leaders of the Party and State; the Ministry of National Defense; revolutionary veterans, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, Labor Heroes; leaders of central departments, ministries, and agencies; and representatives of Ho Chi Minh City.

The program included three chapters: Chapter 1 – The Aspiration for Reunification, which depicted a journey of emotions, recalling the days when the country was divided but united in struggle. It featured a series of songs including The Folk Tune by Hien Luong Wharf, dance performance Dong Khoi, Song of Hope, Singing on the Top of Truong Son, Vam Co Dong; dance performance Steel Land, The Country, and the medley The Nation Reunited in Joy – Spring on Ho Chi Minh City.
Chapter 2 – The Aspiration to Rise conveyed the spirit of unity and comprehensive reform, the collective efforts to build and defend the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the era of independence and development. It featured well-known songs such as The South Always Remembers Uncle Ho, Song of Today’s Rice Plant, Love Song of the Miners, Spring from the Oil Wells, and Unforgettable Song.

Prominent figures from the show Call Me by Fire, like People’s Artist Tu Long, SOOBIN, Cuong Seven, and Thanh Duy… performed Song of Today’s Rice Plant in a newly arranged and orchestrated version.
Chapter 3 – The Aspiration for Greatness was filled with melodies of pride, peace, and renovation – melodies carrying the ambitions of the entire nation in the new era. It featured such pieces as the medley For the People – Truong Sa Marching Song, Unwavering in Our Faith, the medley The Soldier’s Uniform – Mother’s Daughter Becomes a Soldier – The Party’s Call to Hearts, Young City, Melody of the Nation, and Broad New Roads.
The program concluded with the song Broad New Roads, delivering powerful and meaningful messages: the glorious history of the nation and the people continues to be written today by millions of young Vietnamese, carrying the pride of the nation and the great responsibility inherited from previous generations. We have every reason to believe in a “Vietnamese Miracle” on the journey toward a prosperous and thriving country, built upon the strength of self-reliance and resilience under the glorious banner of the Party.
