Produced by Vietnam Television (VTV), the series Vietnam’s Historical Decodings aims to preserve pivotal events in Vietnam's military history. The project seeks to honor the sacrifices of past generations and highlight the value of peace. More importantly, the series explores and analyzes Vietnam's military strategies while unraveling historical mysteries—some of which remain classified or are known to only a few. This series functions as a televised museum of Vietnamese military strategy and tactics. The series also serves as a repository for rare and valuable archival materials (both visual and narrative) that document a prolonged period of warfare in Vietnam’s history.
Each episode of the series focuses on dissecting specific military strategies and tactics, analyzing important battles and campaigns from the wars against the French and the Americans. Episodes include topics such as 1954 – Memories of Dien Bien Phu, The Dak To Campaign, and The Kon Tum Front of 1972, offering deep insights into the art of warfare and the resilience of the Vietnamese people and armed forces.
In addition to watching Vietnam’s Historical Decodings daily at 7:30 AM from April 21 to April 30 on VTV1, viewers can also watch episodes online HERE.
