Fifty-six year-old Nha Trang University is the leading fisheries sector university. The university has become the 6th member of the international education network in Asia, with universities from Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia providing master courses in tropical fisheries.
Nha Trang University is going to co-operate with Japan’s Kagoshima University in order to exchange academic skills and students. Nha Trang will send students to Kagoshima University every year. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese students to benefit from modern teaching methods and learn new fisheries models and technologies.
International co-operation is an inevitable trend, creating a bridge between the Vietnamese and international universities, but also create a momentum to promote the development the standard of education in Vietnam. It is hoped that such opportunities will improve the scientific research capacity of Vietnam’s universities.
