The Eurocopter EC 130, a light training helicopter produced by Airbus Helicopters, lost contact 15 minutes into a flight. A pilot and two trainees were on board the helicopter identified as Captain Duong Le Minh and lieutenants Dang Dinh Duy and Nguyen Van Tung. Search teams are looking for the helicopter and missing crew.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the Ministry of Defense to mobilize all resources to search for the crew. The National Committee for Search and Rescue and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial people’s committee were also asked to co-ordinate with the Ministry of Defense to implement search and rescue work and identify the cause of the accident.
