VTV.vn - Ho Chi Minh City has begun to bustle once more as the country’s largest city has entered the first day of ‘re-opening step by step following a roadmap’ on the morning of October 1.

Most of pandemic checkpoints located on streets in the city were removed so the circulation of people is now more convenient for large numbers of vehicles.

A number of services such as vehicle repair and haircuts saw high demand and most of shops were crowded.

All shops selling food and drinks are for takeout only, not for on-site dining.

In addition, large commercial and retail systems have begun to expand their operations. Before October 1, retail systems were operating normally, but only served bulk buying and buyers with tickets issued by the authorities.

From October 1, all people can go to supermarkets and convenience stores to buy goods, as long as they meet the safety requirements for COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.

According to the regulations of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, several types of production, commerce, and services are allowed to reopen after September, in which food and beverage services are only allowed to provide take-away and barber shops can only operate at 50% capacity, among others.
