VTV.vn - Vietnam is revising the way it measures its gross domestic product so that it can meet international standards and better reflect the real size and structure of the economy.

Incomplete statistics and limitations in data collection methods are just some of the reasons why Vietnam’s GDP scale is inadequate. It's time for Vietnam to reassess the scale of its gross domestic product (GDP) according to many international organizations. The General Statistics Office of Vietnam had a working session on Friday regarding this issue.

According to representatives of the General Statistics Office, the re-evaluation of the GDP scale will help assess the overall picture of the economy which should help the government, ministries, and localities to achieve national socio-economic development goals scheduled for 2021 to 2025 and the following years.
