The annual event will be jointly held in Vinpearl Land in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province by VTV and Vingroup with the participation of children from Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, the host country Vietnam, the Russian Federation, South Korea, China and Japan. The Vietnamese delegation is the most numerous with 30 children from the Vinschool art troupe.
Vietnam Television hosts the children festival every year on the occasion of the International Children Day June 1 and in celebration of friendship among the countries.
In comparison to the previous years, this year festival will see an expansion in the number of participating countries and more diverse activities. Under the theme For a Green Planet, many outdoor activities will be held to raise the children’s awareness on environmental protection, besides art performances.
“The event is expected not only to create a playground for children but also to promote Vietnam and its people and landscape among international friends”- said Dang Diem Quynh, the head of the Youth and Children Program Production Department.
The seaside resort Vinpearl Land is an ideal place for outdoor activities with environmental education purposes for children. During the five days of the festival, they will visit the aquarium, explore the marine ecology, experience safari and play in the water park. Also they will be guests of the three TV shows:
1. The Joyful Lunch to be aired live on May 31 on VTV6.
2. The Art Gala titled Green Planet to be aired on June 1 on VTV1. This is expected to be the main activity with the participation of the eight delegations, singer Dong Nhi and child singer Phuong Khanh who is considered Vietnam’s opera genius. The Gala will start with a parade of the delegations to highlight cultural diversity.
3. The show Days of Friendship to be aired on June 9 at 20h10 on VTV1 to sum up the activities throughout the festival.
The production crew for the festival brings together the most outstanding art directors including Viet Tu and musician Huy Tuan.
Diem Quynh said the festival will be an experimental event and will become the brand-name of VTV in the long run with more delegations and diverse activities.
