Malaysia sets up task force to investigate 1MBD

VTV.vn - Malaysia has established a special task force to investigate possible criminal offences by individuals relating to the management of the country’s multi-billion-dollar 1MBD fund, the new prime minister’s office said on Monday.

he task force will be made up of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, the country’s central bank and police. It will also cooperate with relevant law enforcement agencies in the US, Switzerland, Singapore, Canada as well as other countries.  

Allegations emerged in 2015 that former Prime Minister Najib Razak had received almost 700 million US dollars linked to the multi-billion-dollar 1MDB fund. Razak has always denied any wrongdoing.
