VTV.vn - The flooding in the north and north-central regions of Vietnam in the past few days is thought to be one of the worst in the past 10 years.

The damage it has left in its wake has once again been a stark reminder of Vietnam's increasing vulnerability to the effects of climate change and natural disasters. A conference on Friday morning in Hanoi discussed the importance of boosting risk management and resilience to natural disasters.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dzung said Vietnam is committed to creating the best conditions for preventing natural disasters, ensuring the protection of lives. The conference was organised by the Central Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the World Bank.
