Flood death toll rises to 93

VTV.vn - The death toll after the flooding in the past days in north and north central Vietnam has risen to 93.

Most of the deaths have been recorded in Hoa Binh, Yen Bai and Thanh Hoa Provinces. Over 30,000 houses have been inundated while some 2,000 households have had to be evacuated.

Over 50,000 hectares of rice and other crops are flooded. Many irrigation works have been damaged. Some areas are still marooned. Earlier, a landslide buried four houses with 18 people early this morning in Phu Cuong Commune, Tan Lac District, in the northern province of Hoa Binh on Thursday. Hundreds of people and soldiers have been mobilised in order to search for the victims under the mass of soil. So far, 10 bodies has been found while the other 8 are still missing.
