Among them, 26 people have lost their lives, while 15 others remain missing. Some of the worst affected provinces include Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Son La and Cao Bang. Over 230 houses have either collapsed or been swept away by flash floods. Over 400 households have had to evacuate. Hundreds of hectares of crops have been damaged. Floods have also destroyed roads and traffic infrastructure. Total property loss is now estimated at 41 million USD.
