The event kick-started the ASEAN+ Children Festival 2017. In addition to the colourful features of each nation, children from nine countries sang together in a piece called A Song of Peace.
Themed a Journey of Discovery, the festival gives participants an opportunity to learn more about Vietnam's culture through trips to the Museum of Ethnology, Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre as well as Long Việt Agricultural Park.
A highlight of this year's festival, the street carnival to be held on Saturday, will feature a parade, games, music and dance performances in the pedestrianised area in the city centre on Saturday.
