Before the session finished, draft resolutions on the classification of administrative divisions and cities were considered.
At the session, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed on the importance of the draft resolution on administrative divisions, which stipulates the conditions and criteria for establishing, dissolving and merging administrative divisions, as well as encouraging the merger of communal-level divisions.
According to Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Phung Quoc Hien, population density must be the most important factor when considering classification of administrative divisions and cities. Also at the session, Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan requested that members of the National Assembly Standing Committee make thorough preparations for the coming 14th National Assembly and People's Councils elections.
