VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received US Trade Representative Michael Froman last Wednesday, when the two sides discussed solutions to accelerate the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement.

PM Dung said that it was important that the US government take into account the differences of the Vietnamese economy to facilitate the negotiation of the TPP. For his part, Michael Froman said that in addition to accepting the characteristics of the Vietnamese economy, Washington would seek to get the best balance for both parties, and grant Vietnam the time necessary to enable it to fulfill the commitments as outlined

This week Vietnam also received another delegation from the US. 16 US peace and anti-war activists have visited Vietnam as part of the 40th anniversary of national reunification. They were received by Director of Americas Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nguyễn Bá Hùng, who expressed his gratitude to their contributions to the anti-war movements back in the US 40 years ago. The two sides discussed bilateral relations between Vietnam and the US, and made plans to organize activities to connect people of the two nations.
