Amongst several ideas, they decided to build a patrol boat to support the nation’s efforts to protect its sovereignty.
Mr Vo Van Long, campaign manager, said: "We live far from our homeland but our spirit of patriotism is still high. We want to contribute to our country's needs. We hope the boat will be a practical way to protect national sovereignty. Patrol boat CQ-01 is a highlight among of the contributions being made by overseas Vietnamese communities around the world, and was greatly appreciated by the Naval High Command".
