Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, Đinh Thế Huỵnh, and Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam attended the event. The Association of Vietnam Press Writers, the VJA's predecessor, was established on April 21st, 1950 with 300 members. At present, it has more than 22,000 members from over 800 press offices across the nation. Over the past 65 years, the VJA has made great contributions to national liberation and development. Its correspondents have bravely covered stories firsthand from battle fields and are continuing their tireless efforts to report news, photos and footage daily. The association has been awarded Ho Chi Minh medal and gold star by the government.
