VTV.vn - The program "Computers accompany students to school" has donated 5 modern PCs to the Thái Hải Youth Library (Thái Nguyên) to support online reading and IT learning.

On November 12, 2023, Thái Hải Youth Library was inaugurated in My Hao hamlet, Thịnh Đức commune, Thái Nguyên city, Thái Nguyên province. The event was attended by Mr. Đinh Đắc Vĩnh - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, Chairman of Vietnam Television's Union; Journalist Nguyễn Phan Khuê - Member of Central Youth Union Council - Editor-in-Chief of Thiếu niên Tiền phong và Nhi đồng Newspaper - Director of Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund; Writer Phạm Thành Long - former editor-in-chief of Thiếu niên Tiền phong newspaper; Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Hải - Head of Thái Hải Commune, along with delegates, representatives of sponsors and students of Thái Hải Preschool - Primary School.

The Thái Hải Youth Library is a meaningful project to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund (March 5, 1999 - March 5, 2024).

In early November 2023, the construction of the stilt house where the library is located was completed. The structure was designed according to the distinctive architecture of the Tày people, which is roofed with palm leaves. With an area of 92m2, the building serves two functions: a reading area and a community room. The library's reading room contains 4,200 books, newspapers, and children's comic books.

The library's 4,200 books and 70 newspapers were organized and classified according to library industry standards by journalist Phạm Kim Chi, the first library manager of Vietnam Television.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Television's Union and Minh Châu Computer Technology Development Company Limited (MCC) donated five modern computers to Thái Hải Youth Library to support online reading and computer learning. This gift was part of the "Computer accompanies students to school" volunteer program jointly implemented by the Vietnam Television Trade Union and Minh Châu Company.

Teacher Hà Lan Anh, Vice Principal of Thái Hi Preschool - Primary School, expresses her feelings by saying, "Today is a special day for the school and the children of Thái Hi. Thái Hi Village is honored to receive this extraordinary gift from the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, especially on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. This is the first and only facility that the village and school have received as a gift. The Thái Hải Youth Library will not only be a cultural address for the community and children of the village, but also for the residents of Cường hamlet and Thịnh Đức commune.

The library hopes to effectively contribute to the training and development of young human resources for Thái Hải Village and the local community.

Earlier, on November 9, 2023, the Vietnam Television's Union and Minh Chau Computer Technology Development Company Limited signed a cooperation agreement for the charity program "Computers Accompany Students to School".

According to the cooperation agreement, MCC Company will sponsor the program with 250 computer sets over 5 years with a total budget of VND2,975,000,000 (two billion nine hundred seventy-five million VND).

The purpose of the program is to sponsor schools, libraries, and students in difficult circumstances, especially poor and diligent students, to have computers for more effective learning.
