"Thank You, Life" is an annual signature program of Vietnam Television that takes place at the end of each year. It is a time when people often want to reflect on the year that is about to end and rediscover true values. The program allows viewers to revisit the past year through emotionally moving and meaningful human stories selected from events that occurred during the year. It aims to evoke love and provide viewers with additional motivation and inspiration for life by planting seeds of kindness in everyone's heart.
In 2023, the country continues to recover from the pandemic. Challenges related to the global context, the economy, natural disasters, storms and floods have cast a somewhat gloomy shadow over the overall picture. In the unpredictable journey of time, individuals find inner strength. The theme for the 2023 Thank You, Life Gala has been chosen by the production team as "Thank You for Staying Strong.
To convey the message of gratitude for positive changes, the production team selected positive stories with humane narratives and inspiring introductions for the audience. The stories chosen are true to the definition of "vững tâm" - the feeling of having a foundation, having conditions to be reassured, without worries, despite difficulties and dangers, only with a steadfast spirit can one face the challenges that lie ahead. This resilience comes from within each person, from the support and care of the community, from valuable stories throughout the year, and from these stories they aim to create beautiful things in the future.
In preparation for the live broadcast, the production team traveled to various locations throughout the country, conducting interviews and gathering stories. The team visited Gia Lai Province and met with Dr. Nay Blum, who eliminated the ritual of burying newborn babies alive when their mothers died in the Central Highlands. Driven by compassion for these infants, Dr. Nay Blum dedicated over 30 years of his life to saving them. As a result of his efforts, this malpractice has been abolished and the local people trust the doctor, who has always been dedicated to the community.
In addition to Dr. Nay Blum's story, the program will feature the participation of many other individuals who are sources of positive energy and who believe in positive change.
The "Thank You, Life" gala program will be broadcast live on December 24 at 20:10 on VTV1.
