Nearly eight decades have passed, butPresident Ho Chi Minh's six teachings on "The Revolutionary Qualities of Public Security Officers" remain as valuable as ever. These teachings continue to serve as the guiding principle, an aspiration, and a motivation for every officer in the People's Public Security Force to strive, train, and contribute. In celebration of the 79th anniversary of the People's Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the 19th anniversary of the National Day of All-People’s Defense of Homeland Security (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2024), the program "Flowers Adorning the Shield 2024" with the theme "Behind the Peace" offers a glimpse into the lives of the commune police officers, who are perhaps the closest to the people in the large family of the People's Public Security Force.
Through the language of art, documentaries, and conversations with special guests, "Flowers Adorning the Shield 2024" will provide a comprehensive perspective on the image of the People's Public Security officers who are responsible, exemplary, and deeply connected with the people, fostering strong bonds and creating a steadfast public security defense.
Throughout the program, the image of the commune police officers is vividly and realistically portrayed through various documentaries. These include the story of Lieutenant Vi Van Luan, a commune police officer in Pu Nhi, Muong Lat District, Thanh Hoa Province, who sacrificed his life while pursuing drug criminals and dismantling a complex drug den in Ta Com Village, Trung Ly Commune, Muong Lat District, Thanh Hoa Province. Another story is about Captain Nguyen Danh Tung, a commune police officer in Cach Linh, Quang Hoa District, Cao Bang Province, who left the capital to serve as a police officer in the mountainous regions.
The program will also feature fascinating stories about the creative journey of artists, writers, and journalists in adapting the real-life figures of People's Public Security officers into films, articles, and plays. These stories will be shared with the public through the narratives of guests such as Director and Meritorious Artist Mai Hien, who directed the film "Pho trong lang" produced by the Vietnam Television Film Center; writer Nguyen Duy Liem from the Quang Ninh Writers' Association; journalist Nguyen Xuan Tung from the Vietnam News Agency; and singer Hoang Hong Ngoc.
A highlight of "Flowers Adorning the Shield 2024: Behind the Peace" will be the special cultural performances, including the theatrical piece "Uncle Will Stay" performed by the People's Public Security Theater. This story, inspired by many real-life accounts, illustrates how the commune police officers live closely with the people, earn their trust, and gain their love and support. It is a story of dedication at the grassroots level, showcasing the abilities and talents of the commune police force, helping to build trust, and enhancing the beautiful image of the People's Public Security officers who are ready to "sacrifice for the nation, serve the people."
The program "Flowers Adorning the Shield 2024: Behind the Peace" will be aired at 8:10 PM on August 18 on VTV1.
