The second weekly competition of January in the fourth quarter of the Road to Olympia Mount saw four contestants competing fiercely: Tran Thi Quynh (Gia Binh No. 1 High School - Bac Ninh), Nguyen Duong Gia Huy (Nguyen Thuong Hien High School - Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Trung Kien (Thai Binh Specialized High School - Thai Binh), and Nguyen Phuong Thao (Le Quy Don Specialized High School - Dien Bien).
The first contestant in the Individual Warm-Up round was Tran Quynh, who scored 30 points. Gia Huy scored 30, Trung Kien scored 50, and Phuong Thao scored 40.
The contestants took turns answering and scoring in the 12-question General Warm-Up round. After this round, the scores were very close: Tran Quynh and Gia Huy tied with 40 points, Phuong Thao with 50 points, and Trung Kien led with 55 points.
The keyword for the Overcome Obstacle round consisted of 11 letters. Gia Huy and Phuong Thao scored points with the answer "Ngoai Giao" (Diplomacy). Gia Huy quickly rang the bell by answering the obstacle but admitted he rushed to answer "Pham Van Dong", which turned out to be correct.
Gia Huy took the lead with 110 points. The scores were: Tran Quynh 40 points, Trung Kien 55 points, and Phuong Thao 60 points.
The Speed-Up round is highly competitive and can quickly change the leaderboard. In the first question, all four contestants answered correctly, but Trung Kien was the fastest, earning 40 points. In the Finish round, Trung Kien, the current leader, chose a set of three 20-point questions. After missing the first question, he scored 20 points on the second but missed the last due to mishearing the question, ending with 215 points.
Gia Huy, in second place, chose a set of 20 - 20 - 30-point questions. He calmly scored 20 points on the first question, but missed the next two, keeping his score while the others got it wrong.
Phuong Thao chose a set of 20 - 30 - 30-point questions. Trung Kien gained 30 points from Thao's correct answer to the second question, leaving her with 65 points.
Finally, Tran Quynh chose a set of 20 - 30 - 30-point questions. After missing the first, she used the Star of Hope and earned 60 points. Gia Huy's incorrect buzz in the final question did not change his score.
Thus, Trung Kien won the laurel wreath with 235 points. The final scores were Tran Quynh with 180 points, Gia Huy with 175 points, and Phuong Thao with 65 points.
