Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung alongsidesome 150 leaders from around the world attended the event. The expected outcome of the event is a new international agreement on climate change to keep global warming below 2°C.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung delivered a speech at the conference. He suggested that Vietnam would donate 1 million USD to the Green Climate Fund from 2016-2020. Vietnam will also stand by its commitment of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 8 percent by 2030, and by up to 25% if it receives international support.
Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, together with Vice Chairperson of the World Bank Laura Tuck co-chaired a high-level conference to discuss climate change mitigation measures for the Mekong Delta at the COP 21.
