This is one of the biggest container ships to have docked in Vietnam. The vessel can weigh up to 160,000 tons and is usually deployed on the Europe - Asia route.
This opened up an opportunity for Vietnamese goods to directly enter the European market. This will greatly save costs and time for Vietnamese firms. More importantly, this emphasises Cai Mep Thi Vai’s significant role in the international distribution network.
The management now plans to increase the port’s connectivity and build up more infrastructure to welcome 200,000 ton ships into the dock.
