The incident occurred on Soai Rap River in HCMC, along the border with Tiền Giang Province. 12 members of the crew have been rescued, while 5 more remain missing.
A 40-strong task force consisting of Border Guards, Coast Guards, and firefighters have been deployed to search for the missing members. Soai Rap has also witnessed another boat accident resulting in 9 casualties.
