Vietnam attends ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung led a Vietnamese delegation to the event.

The East Asia Summit Senior Officials’ Meeting discussed a wide range of regional and global issues, such as the East Sea, North Korea, terrorism, disease, natural disasters, and immigration. 

The participants urged the countries involved in the East Sea dispute to implement the Declaration on the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and quickly agree on a Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC). 

At the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung shared his views about the achievements made through cooperation between the ASEAN and its partners, and urged  member countries to step up their own cooperation to better cope with international issues. He also stressed the participating countries’ duty to ensure regional security and follow international law.
